Vivien Narcisa Triano

Story Ambassador 2024

Vivien Narcisa Triano is the eldest daughter of hardworking Filipino immigrants and a descendent of spiritual healers. As a dedicated student of Life whose most recent teacher is grief, she got to experience the power of community healing through oral storytelling, whilst navigating the loss of her late mom to metastatic breast cancer.

By day, she is a clinical genetic counselor—a collector of family health histories, de-coder of complex information, and safe container for those adjusting to new life with genetic diseases. By night, she is retelling and healing her own family’s erased origin stories through her art and writing, lovingly guided by her indigenous ancestors and spirit guides. She was born and raised in the Silicon Valley but is a Sacramentan at heart and is charting new waters as a co-parent to two bright young boys.

She is grateful to the craft of storytelling for reminding her that we are brilliantly multifaceted. That she is a creative and a clinician; that she doesn’t have to be “either/or” but rather can be “both/and”. She’s excited to guide others toward discovering new facets of themselves through storytelling, too.
