Jennifer Wadlin Moylan

Story Ambassador 2023

Jennifer (Jennie) Wadlin Moylan works at the intersection of autobiographical memory, cultural inheritance, and career development. She leads “Your Story, Your Strengths: Intercultural Skills for Career and Life Success” workshops and hosts “Spoken World Story Jams,” at UC Davis, for which Chancellor May awarded her the Above and Beyond Staff Excellence Award. She sees that our California students come to the university already rich in intercultural skills, earned through their lived experience. Storytelling and radical listening allow students to name and claim their strengths. A folklorist by training, Jennie studied Intercultural Healing at UNC-Chapel Hill and Anthropology at UC Davis, where she interviewed women about how they supported their families and their resulting family formation choices in Togo, West Africa. From Peace Corps to academic advising, Jennie has always been a practical applied anthropologist.  She is returning to school this fall to study career choices through a counseling lens at Sacramento State University.
