Basia Ellis
Board Member
Basia D. Ellis is an Associate Professor of Child Development at California State University Sacramento. She received a doctoral degree in Social and Theoretical Psychology from the University of Calgary and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Chicago in the Department of Comparative Human Development. Her research explores the psychology of migration and particularly, immigrant health and well-being. Her interdisciplinary research has been published in various high impact social scientific journals, including Culture & Psychology, Theory & Psychology, Migration Studies, Law & Social Inquiry, Cultural StudiesCritical Methodologies, Research in Human Development, and Journal of Adolescent Research. As a community engaged scholar, Dr. Ellis also serves as Curriculum Chair for the Dreamer Resource Center on her campus, where she helps facilitate a year-long course and weekly support group with undocumented and mixed-status family students. Basia has served as a Board Member since 2019.
