Storytelling and Poetry Virtual Workshop
April 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
There is a storyteller and a poet in all of us.
Storytelling and poetry are deeply intertwined. Before there is a poem, there must be a story. To find those stories and poems, we must be willing to dive into our memories and allow ourselves to play with words and see their power. Maybe you are a storyteller interested in learning to write poetry. Or maybe you are a poet looking to deepen your practice. Or maybe you are simply interested in both and want to gently dip your toe into the waters of story and poetry! This virtual workshop is for you.
In this 2-hour experiential workshop, published storyteller and poet Diana Medina will guide you through the process of creating a story and a poem about the same moment. By the end of the two hour workshop you will have a draft of each and a strategy for future story and poem creation. Absolutely everyone is welcome at this workshop; no prior experience is needed. Captioning will be provided. The workshop is virtual and offered via Zoom. Once you register, you will receive information on the Zoom meeting.
