Part of our mission is to train individuals in the basics of true-life storytelling. We host workshops that are open to EVERYONE; absolutely no prior training is needed to participate. Our next workshop series will happen in July. Information is below.

Oral Storytelling Workshop
This workshop trains you to tell real-life stories orally. There are two different sections of this workshop; each section is a 3 week long workshop (that meets once a week for 3 consecutive weeks). You need only enroll in ONE of the two sections. The two sections are identical, just offered on different days to accommodate schedules.

Section 1
Mondays, July 8, 15, 22 @ 6 PM – 8 PM
CSUS campus

Section 2
Wednesdays, July 10, 17, 24 @ 7 PM – 9 PM
CSUS Campus

COST: $30 for the public. Free for CSUS students and staff.


Audio-Radio Storytelling Workshop
This 4-week workshop trains you in the art of podcast production. Participants will learn how to use audio recording equipment and editing software with instruction from experienced radio and podcast producers. In addition, all participants will have access to industry standard recording equipment to record “in the field” as well as in the studio. By the end of the course, each participant will have created 1-2 audio pieces. Equipment and software are provided; participants must have access to a laptop computer to bring to the class each week.
Dates of the workshop are July 16, 23, 30 and Aug 6 @ 6:00 – 8:30 PM
COST: $350 for the public. Scholarships available for CSUS students (email to inquire)
