Bernetta “Penny” Parson worked in higher education for over two decades. Whether teaching English composition and literature, working in career development, or leading community college transfer student programs, she honed the skills to teach students how to tell their stories. She first came to Capital Storytelling as a student in 2020 but quickly stood out as a star storyteller. She has told stories on stage ranging from a fear-inducing camp-talent-show to a deeply moving story about the birth of her daughter and an all-important Mets game. She was a 2022 Story Ambassador and now is one of our most beloved storytelling instructors, story coaches, and our communications assistant.
